Prepare the pool
Vacuum the pool, clean the filter, and fix any cracks. For bare concrete or plaster, you can acid wash the pool to create a better bond for the paint.
Choose the right paint
There are 2 main types of pool paint, Epoxy Resin and Chlorinated Rubber paint. Chlorinated Rubber Swimming Pool Paint offers exceptional chemical resistance and flexibility, meaning it won’t crack when warped. Epoxy Resin Swimming Pool Paint, on the other hand, provides a hard wearing, yet inflexible, coating when fully cured. Both are available in 100's of colours.
Apply the paint
Start at the deep end and work your way to the shallow end. Apply the paint in one direction, liberally coating the surface. If you're using a roller, you can use a brush to lay off the paint and avoid air bubbles.
Wait for it to dry
Chlorinated Rubber Swimming Pool Paint can take between 2-6 hours to dry and may be overcoated within 12 hours. Epoxy Resin Swimming Pool Paint is a chemical curing coating. It may take 3-10 hours to dry and may be overcoated within 16-18 hours.
Let it cure
Wait at least 5–7 days before filling the pool with water. If it rains during this time, remove any standing water and add a day to the cure time.
Start using the pool
Restart the filter system and adjust the alkalinity and calcium hardness levels. You should resume your normal chemical maintenance program.
